First Video Game You Remember Playing
« on: September 30, 2014, 02:20:54 AM »
So I'm going to really show my age here, but the first video game I remember playing was the console version of Pong, back in the 1970s. My uncle had the game and he would let me play whenever I went to his place for a visit. I must have been 4-5 years old, but I still clearly remember playing it.

So what's the first game you remember playing?

I remember having games around me almost as long as I can remember, but I always watched my sister or dad play them. The first time I actually played a game myself was after my sister got bored with Pokemon Blue, so I got a chance on it. It. Was. Amaaazing! Needless to say, I've been obsessed with gaming ever since. I'm so sad that you can't transfer Pokemon from the original games up through to the current games (X & Y as of now). That would seriously make me happy for a whole week.

As for age... I don't even remember how old I was! Probably when I was 10 or so. I know I first saw the TV show when I was 9 so it had to be shortly after that.

My first game on N64 was Super Mario 64... but I couldn't do much! I remember being so scared of Bowser, I couldn't even handle the stage music when you first go to fight him.  :P

The first game I remember playing was Joust for the Atari.  I know I played some Pong, but it's not memorable.  I can remember playing Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros back in 89, that's pretty memorable.  I remember playing hours and hours of Dragon Warrior on the NES.  That's the first memory of an RPG that I have and I still love the nostalgia of that game.

The first game I ever played was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64.  I have very fond memories of sitting and taking turns falling off cliffs and dying countless deaths with my mother who loved to play with me.  However, the first game that I really got immersed in was Minecraft because it allows you to think creatively and use your imagination.

First video game I ever played was Tetris. It was so freaking confusing, because I was only like three and a half years old at the time, so I had no idea how to move and flip the blocks or the purpose to the game at all. Regardless, I eventually learned how to play Tetris, and eventually inspired me to continue playing videos up to now, whether that may be bad or good, who knows...

Well I'm 42 and I still play video games. I also run my own consulting business and I'm happily married. So I prove that one can be a gamer *and* have a life! :)

I can't recall which one is the first game that I've played, but it's either Super Mario or Adventure Island.  Oh, good, old days!  I think I was just six or seven at that time, and I was playing it with my brother and father.   Quite funny though, among the three of us, it was my father who got into it so much that he would stay up all night just to play.  I definitely miss those days!

The first console game I ever played was either pacman or space invaders for the atari 2600.  Cool games at the time.

The first video game I played on a computer system would be load runner and jumpman for the commodore 64 system.

Yeah I'm old.

I think that the first video game I ever played was Circus Charlie. It was for the Family Computer/NES. I can still remember blowing air to the cartridge when it's not functioning. LOL. Here's a video of Circus Charlie. :P

I am a really ancient person haha, so my first games were actually in a videopac, if anyone remembers this it's because they are as old as me. :)

My brother and I played Mortal Kombat at an arcade. We also played a lot family computer games such as Super Mario, Popeye and Bomber Man. Boy, those were the days.

Hmm, the first video game I've every played is called "Horned Owl". That's the first part of the game title, I don't remember the rest anymore. I remember playing it on my cousin's Playstation, I'd often borrow it just to play the game. Unfortunately I didn't even get to finish it. I remember being really frustrated though, because I was stuck in a certain part of the game and I was just stuck in it until I gave up.

I think the first game I remember playing is Super Mario Bros.
I got my first console, the NES, with the cartridge that had Tetris, Mario and a soccer game, and I think Mario was the first one I tried, even though I played all three a lot.
