The forum's rules - please read if registered.
« on: February 10, 2014, 03:26:41 PM »
RULE 1
No posting anything that is meant to offend others, or is likely to. This covers stuff like racism and religious slurs, crafted remarks meant to cause harm, and anything else that would not generally be acceptable on an online gaming forum. If somebody is being a dick, you can call them out on it.

RULE 2
No double posting or excessive topic bumping. We have a Modify button, use it. You can bump a topic of your own once every 7 days, unless ofcourse there is an active discussion going on to which you want to reply. This applies even if you last posted in it, as long as your new post is relevant.

RULE 3
Try to stay on topic. Conversations can always stray a bit from the core subject matter, but don't overdo it. If you see a topic rapidly derailing, feel free to bring it back to where it's supposed to be!

RULE 4
No spamming or otherwise peddling your wares (advertising, basically). This website is for the xP// community, so keep other stuff out of here unless you get permission from a site admin. In a similar vein, do not re-post an admin-locked topic unless the lock was done at your own request.

RULE 5
Do not directly post pictures or videos in the shoutbox. Use cut (ex: watch?v=MkWWx0YSyM0 for YouTube) or shortened (ex: goo.gl/LKZYR) links if you want to share stuff with people, instead.

Actions can and will be taken towards anybody breaking these rules. Do not post on here if you do not agree to them. Expect topic tweaks over time.

(also, if you have a question, ask!)

So. I'm glad I got a warning AFTER the rules were posted. That makes COMPLETE sense.
EDIT: to clarify, I got a warning for something I posted Before the rules were posted

You got a warning for something I told you not to do several days ago.

I've never been issued a warning until now. And I have warnings now so I wont do it again.

That was a warning in writing, we didn't actually have a forum-managed warning system in use until yesterday.

So you sent the warning just because you could? I've been using edits since then so I don't quite see the reason to send me one. I guess it was just to make it official. But it was unnecessary since I used edits. Only reason I "double posted" yesterday was because it deserved another post, not an addition to the post I already posted. And that was yesterday before the rules were posted. I see the rules now and won't do it again as I have already stated. I'm just slightly bothered that you sent me a warning for something that I did before the rules were posted. I'm ok with it but I think you could've just waited for me to double post again (if I ever did), but you're admin so you can do whatever you want I guess. Just saying. Warnings after crime and after posting list of rules. I get it now and I won't again.

The rules were posted in 2012.

It's your fault for not looking at them originally, these are just an update.

I actually never seen them until now either. Never knew they existed until now as well.

Nobody wants to be a part of your snarky behavior, ever since you became a president your egoism has bloated up more than ever! Have you ever heard of common sense? Maybe if you see people getting annoyed over your chainposts then maybe you should stop, but you just kept going!
You've been nothing but a pain in the ass here in the forums, saying admins should delete a video just because it has staged violence in it and calling them ruthless for posting it, complaining! If you can't behave and act polite when it fits then you should just get the hell out of this community!

Can this updated list stay at the top of the page? I wouldn't have known that there was a post about rules from 2 years ago. Also... No official mailed warning was issued prior to this. I agree to these rules it's just the fact that this was the first time I was warned through mail. And that warning was for something before the rules were delisted. If I remember correctly you guys were trying to find that original post yourselves. I agree to the rules, just slightly irked that I was warned for something prior to a reminder of the rules. And AGAIN... I won't do it again. I'm agreeing so let it alone :P just saying I was warned through mail for the first time for something that was against rules that were so burried that I didn't know they existed. I see them now so I'm ok with it. No reason to warn me for a past post :P So unless you guys want to spam the topic by telling me "oh but this"... And break the rules even more... then be my guest. I agree. And I'm done posting more if you are. And thanks DemiGod for proving my point:) Didn't he just break rule one?

Not directly relevant, since that was buried way too deeply and wasn't stickied. I can see some confusion there, not that it matters in this specific scenario though.

February 07, 2014, 09:40:05 PM XpanD says: Pretty sure we used to have a rules page that banned that, dunno where that went. Anyways, you can take your daily bump idea elsewhere. It's not relevant to a lot of people, and we have an edit button for a reason which you can use WITHOUT spamming up the recent posts. Also without raising your post count like crazy and then arguing with people over it.
See above. If I tell you to stop it in writing, it still counts. Just because we have a fancy system for it now doesn't mean that old messages in writing didn't matter.

It's stickied, so yes.

Discussing the rules isn't exactly off-topic, as that's the whole point OF this topic.

Also, let's just call what TheDemiGod said constructive criticism - you really should be doing something with that instead of arguing here.

I guess you're referring to Rule #1 "crafted remarks meant to cause somebody harm" In that case then you've broken the rule multiple times, remember when you said "You're an admin so I guess you can do what you want", that's ironic and is said for the sullen reason to be guilttripping the admin! And "Take this down you insensitive and disgusting excuse for a human being" Who the hell says that to someone, that's just horrible!
Sure, I'm willing to take a punishment, but in that case I request that you should be punished for saying these too!

Well with updated rules I'll be sure to not do that anymore ;) And xPanD I'm sure you posted something nice and important. I'll read it later but I have to go right now:) as I said, I'm done arguing/responding when you guys are. And if you'll just let him slide with that, what's the use in the rules at all? If there's rules enforce them:) not just on the people you feel like enforcing them on. Bye bye:)

Could you have written that any more condescendingly? If people cause trouble, actions get taken. We don't have a hitlist of people there, but face it - you've been spamming this place much more than you should've, to the point of pissing off a lot of the other regulars. We should've acted on that much sooner, but we waited it out purely because of you being so invested in your whole presidency thing. You still managed to let it get way out of hand, though, and now you're acting butt-hurt over it. Not my problem, not Xenoyia's problem, not anybody else's problem here except for yours. Behave.

I feel guilty now, because I have been a source of starting off topic discussions in the middle of something important.
I also have this faint memory of the rules being mentioned somewhere, like no double posting, and xen found that page again, and I also remember stormize having that signature at the end of all his posts with that forum rule thing. Also, xen/xpand, am I being a pain in the ass on the forums? I feel like wither had no idea he was breaking a rule and so hate built up against him, and i don't want that happening.
Thanks guys.
